I think it’s time to start an Introvert Eco Village. This would be a place dedicated to quality of life, sustainability, and joining together to achieve mutual goals. This lifestyle has appealed to me for a while.
A few questions I’ve been pondering:
Who would be the ideal candidates to share this lifestyle (preferably introverts who won’t turn into obnoxious neighbors and enjoy peace and nature as much as I do)
What would be the ideal number of people to share this lifestyle? I think this question is somewhat dependent on what each person brings and requires. For example, if one acre of land can feed approximately 2 people, then a 10 acre property would support roughly 20 people, theoretically.
Issues: climate (who has a green thumb and a shred of experience growing food?) Who has construction abilities?
I will put this idea forth and see if any other introverts nibble on the idea, I think this could lead to good things. Please comment if you have thoughts to share or are interested.
This is exactly what I want in life, to live relatively alone in a sustainable community. I’m so fed up with the amount of expectations and limitations that society places on introverts, we are not an introvert-friendly nation whatsoever. If you ever do this I will happily be a farmer for you.
Hi Emma,
Thank you for your kind comment and your interest.
I have a feeling we would get along well. Right now I am a student. I have been learning about peak oil, sustainability, psychology, and quality of life issues. I don’t know if the best way to go is to find a pre-existing community or simply start one from scratch…so that is my next topic to research, but a sustainable introvert friendly community remains my highest goal and I would love to have people like you in it.
Hi Sandra,
An Introvert Eco Villiage sounds a wonderful idea, any progress with that at all?
